We had the privilege of sitting down with Vani, the latest champion in Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour 2025 – LEG 5, to discuss her journey, challenges, and triumphs on the course.
With a radiant smile and an air of confidence, Vani shared her emotions after securing her hard-fought win. “I knew I wanted to win. I had a good start to the year—touchwood. The first day was good, even though the weather conditions were tough. Having played in Europe for the past few years, where the weather conditions are similar, I feel that experience definitely gave me an advantage in adapting to the conditions.”
She continued, “Besides that, I shot an under-par round. The second day was a little iffy as my putter went cold. I did talk to myself a little bit, but after the round, I went and practiced, corrected whatever needed to be fixed, and approached today as a fresh start. I had a three-stroke lead after nine holes, and my plan was to maintain it or, ideally, extend it.”
The final round was nothing short of thrilling, with Vani maintaining her composure under pressure. Reflecting on her strategy, she explained, “I knew I had to stay focused and trust my game. It was about playing smart, staying patient, and seizing the right opportunities.”
While celebrating this victory, Vani is already setting her sights on future tournaments. “Winning this title is a stepping stone. My next goal is to stay consistent and aim for even bigger achievements,” she affirmed.
